Ah, the glorious tidings of a self summary. Starting from the beginning, I'm originally Canadian, born in the mighty province of British Columbia, amongst the Canadian Rockies. At age six my family moved to the bustling landscape of Wisconsin, where I still remain to this day. Overall, I enjoy it here, especially in the little corner I call my home. Not to say that I shall stay here forever, as I have no truly complete idea where I'm going to end up, but I'm flexible, so 'tis all good.

Into more personal things, I'm a fairly liberal person. I find myself, much to my own irritation sometimes, far too interested in politics. Then again, I'd rather at least be somewhat involved than detached from it completely.

In my personal life, I love to read, write, draw, and paint. My biggest hobby, which firmly places me in the realm of the geek, is miniature wargaming. Especially historical, which ties into my absolute fascinating with history. Which ties right back into reading, for me. I've got a collection of books that is simply great, in my honest opinion. Then again, I'm a packrat, and it takes a force of will to really get rid of anything. Though, I am getting better. Or at least working on organizing it all.

Beyond my more home bound activities, I'm an active person. I exercise regularly, going for runs and more general focused work outs. When the weather is right, I especially enjoy biking in the country. All the more so on nature trails. I also enjoy camping, generally the quieter the location the better. Hiking is also something I enjoy, though I probably do that least of all.

And beyond all that, if you couldn't tell, I'm a fairly odd person. Not quite as crazy as I sometimes like, but I have my moments. They tend to come in waves. I do my best, day in and out, to find humor in life. I am most definitely a source of entertainment for my coworkers, in a good way. And I do enjoy it that way. But, beyond the humor, I'm a friendly person, and a good friend.

College. I can sum it up in one word without trouble. More specifically, I'm working on a degree in Geography, having recently rediscovered my childhood fancy in maps, more advanced cartography, and especially cultural geography. Now, what I shall do with all that is the new question that faces me, but at least I can get my degree. At the same time I am also reading a sizable amount of philosophy over this summer, feeding my incessant need to consume more knowledge. And I knit. And then there's the new cooking obsession...

I happen to be good at using computers. I also excel at learning, and remembering history, though in terms of applicability to life it's mainly useful for trivia. Otherwise, I tend to be relatively good at a variety of things, but it's rather hard to label something I truly excel at.

If anything, it's that I'm somewhat eccentric. I can get pretty goofy sometimes as well, and that seems to be what people notice about me, though that can very between "boy, he's funny" to "boy, he's pretty freaking odd". That and I'm pretty tall. I doubt people can miss that.

(A) Anything by Terry Pratchett, Robert Asprin, Douglas Adams, or Brian Jacques. I own a wide variety of books on current events. Some books (or authors) I've been reading recently include Thomas Paine, Dune, Susan Jacoby's Age of American Unreason, A Song of Fire and Ice series by George R. R. Martin, and a variety of books by Bart Ehrman.

(B) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Star Wars, everything save Phantom Menace. Any Mel Brooks movie. Anything by Pixar, as well. The Naked Gun series, as well as Airplane, Hot Shots, Hot Shots Part Deux. Schindler's List, As Good as it Gets, Garden state, and countless others. Recently, I've watched (and thoroughly enjoyed) The Station Agent, Inside Man, Serenity, Iron Man, and Cashback.

(C) Anything under the sun, but my faves are Jethro Tull, Moody Blues, Weird Al, Metallica, The Shins, Allison Kraus, Holst (classical), Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, Rolling Stones, Flogging Molly, Linkin Park, Green Day, The Decemberists.

(D) I'll eat anything, but I really like Italian. And I'll eat any kind of hamburger. But, most Italian style foods suit me fine.

(E) Because it seems to be an important extra, I shall E, for extraneous. Which, in all reality, shall really be for favorite TV shows. Dead Zone, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Monk, Futurama, Boston Legal, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Firefly.

1) Friends, anyone to keep me relatively sane. It's funny, really, but for most of my childhood I enjoyed a solitary existence. And then high school struck, and that stopped abruptly, though it could only be fixed by learning social skills at a point where most people have them. Fun times.

2) Books, of any kind if I'm desperate enough. I enjoy reading, and for the most part, if I'm just relaxing, I'll immediately reach for a book. Or something to read, be it a pamphlet, container of food, or what have you. Is there words? Then I shall read it.

3) & 4) A pad of paper, and a writing utensil of any kind. Even if only to write random drivel, if I'm not reading a book, I'll be writing. I'd like to say I'm writing moving stories, or beautiful poetry, but normally I'm just writing random thoughts. Or writing up new rules for a game I play. Admittedly, I do enjoy writing stories, though not as often as I'd prefer.

5) Crazy hats, which I have a few, and my collection continues to grow. Certainly this is not something I'd go crazy about if I didn't have, but in all fairness I'm running out of things that I'd could never do without. I live a fairly simple life, happily. And I love weird, eccentric hats. What I'd love, one day, is to find a true, Indiana Jones style hat that actually fits me. Until then, I make do.

6) Another thing that isn't life threatening, but small furry mammals of the pet variety. I've always had at least some sort of pet, be it a hamster or a cat, while growing up until the present, and that's something that I'd really hate if it changed. I mean, I have times when I just want to be alone, but even then it's nice to have a pet to simply spend time with.

Darn well nearly everything, much to my eternal and personal detriment. Then again, I'd rather be thinking about situations before acting than simply doing the opposite, because, at least for me, that tends to go down hill rather quickly. Oh, for the want of a happy medium.

I'd like to say hanging with my friends, but they're trickier than all get out to hang out with, so more often it's a Tuesday night or something random I'll be doing that. On a Friday night I'm all too often at my place, generally curled up with a good book, or playing a wargame, or knitting, or all too recently cooking.

I don't often just volunteer my personal/private things, but I'll generally answer any question as truthfully as possible. So, that is an open challenge... ask me anything. I dare you. Mayhaps perchance I'll even double dare!

Anything you see here interests you, obviously. I'll happily reply to anyone who messages me, whatever the reason. Unless you're leveling insults at me, in which case it'll be an unhappy reply, but I doubt anyone would go out of their way to do that.

So, to put it short, I'll write anyone who writes me on here. Solid promise, cross my eyes and hope to eat pie.

As for specific things, any one of these would be a plus, and only a plus, as I'm quite flexible, and can get along with most people. Not being a delusional person any one of these works, more than one is a BIG plus: goofiness, obscure sense of humor, ability to just do whatever the heck you feel like, general geekiness of any sort, fnord.
